Tip by Jynell Brunt in Lansdale, PA. "10 before 4" A great game for practicing serve & serve receive- as well as the mental toughness needed to come from behind & win! Divide your team in half- the serving side starts with 21 points & only earns points for aces. (You can also make it more difficult by taking away points for missed serves!)The serve receive side starts with 15 points, but they earn a point for every 3 pass. If a player shanks a pass, their teammates can keep the other team from scoring by chasing it down...

Tip from Tracy Gillespie in Forth Worth, TX. Relentless Pepper- this Is a drill that raises the intensity of regular Pepper. It starts with 2 players playing pepper. We add 1 girl on each side of the pepper pair holding a ball. As soon as the pepper rally goes bad, one of these girls toss in a ball so there is no down time. The pepper continues without a hitch. The girl that tosses in the ball has to run and shag it so she has a ball to toss in. The other girl with the ball tosses in the...

Two coaches - each on a box at the pins. 10 players split into two groups of five - or whatever works for you. First group is in the drill - the other group shags balls and keeps the court safe. The first group begins with 1 player in the middle back - remaining 4 players are in line. Coach on the OH pin hits a ball to the player in the middle back. She digs it to a target (someone from...

Tip by Robin Kuhn in Riceville, IA. We play a little game called "Dodge Ball." My assistant coach created this game late one night after not being able to sleep. Divide your girls into teams and prepare to scrimmage 6 on 6. You play the game like any match, except when a player makes an error and their team loses the point, that player has to sit out. The next ball is served, and that team has to play down a player. This continues until one side has all six players eliminated. Players can come back onto the court in...
