Tip by Jacqueline Twing, Rock Island, IL. Everything Drill. Divide the team into 3 groups. Setters will be on Side B. Group 1: Serving from Side A to Side B. After serve, player sprints to the base and receives a down ball from a coach on Side A. After digging, replace target and hand the ball to the coach. Tip by Matt Barkley, Post Falls HS in Post Falls, Idaho. I call this drill S-P-C, Serving-Passing-Conditioning. This drill tackles all 3 in one drill. Split up your team with one side passing and one side serving. Coach can be a target and judge on quality of pass. Players rotate from serving side to passing side. After every serve someone is doing a type of conditioning activity. We do a down and back run to net and end line. You can do whatever floats your boat!! Tip by Heidi Brady from North Brunswick, NJ. One of my teams favorite drill is called ace and replace. They are the most competitive ever in practice during this drill which is why I like it so much. On one side of the court three passers are on and the coach is the target. The rest of the team serves. If a server gets an ace they replace the passer they aced and that passer becomes a server (they must sprint to switch).Passers can only continue passing until they get aced. The winner is the player who teaches 21points first....

Tip by Paul Oakes from Akron, Ohio. KNOCKOUTThis drill is used to work on keeping serves in, especially at critical moments at the end of a game/match. 2 teams. There will be a "serving team" and a "target team"(this can be done dividing the team by grade levels, or Varsity and J.V., or however you want them divided. Serving team only serves(one ball at a time). Players alternate through their selected rotation. Next serve cannot be contacted until the last serve is completed on opponents side.
