Tip by Hannah Cornett in DeKalb County, AL.
One skill I have continued to build upon for all three levels is my feedback to the girls. My coaching tip is to reserve practice feedback for practice and game feedback for games. Often, after a loss, it's easy to start focusing on all the errors a team might have made during the post-game discussion, but as a coach, I've had more success with encouraging them in that moment and coming in with a game plan the following day. I've never found it beneficial to emphasize errors at post-game because chances are, they're already beating themselves up.
